Or the price of biscuits and gravy

Hey, anyone out there know they have diabetes?

Well, if you're like a pear-shaped and six from the south, where the three main food groups flour, sugar and lard are (pronounced shortening for you people in the North), then to have a good chance for development.

It is not a picnic, and as aggravating as a loose tooth.

I was not always around. I was a kid very thin hair, eyes and all. My hair is naturally curly and my mom made me cut until I was thirtyor there abouts. It could be big round eyes drawn on a cloth rag and we were side by side and there would be twins.

I ate what everyone else ate, but I was skinny, all the way through school and until my fourth marriage. I always thought that fat people are happy people. My sister said my weight gain and told me to be miserable for a change. "I swear, if you do not become happier you will not be able to get fit through the kitchen door."

Well, he discovers that he was right. Ipushed to 200 pounds this time last year. I kept nausea and shortness of breath. My eyes are not working well and I had about as much energy as a dead cat. All this together was a good sign that I needed to see a doctor. I did. He has to work the blood. She said she had developed type 2 diabetes.

The normal range of HbA1c (a simple laboratory test that shows the average amount of sugar (as glucose), which was in the blood of a person in the last 3Months should be) about 7 or less. Mine was 14.3. My blood sugar was in a constant level of 400 for the past few months.

I was immediately handcuffed, arrested and sentenced to a life of green weeds, vegetables, fruit and bread! Gone were the days of freedom, where I could eat fried steaks, mashed potatoes, biscuits and gravy, wash everything with a huge glass of sweet tea (with real sugar) and at the end of the chain to a whole chocolate cake topped bya pint of vanilla ice cream.

No! I'd also like to eat my grass and fruit to a plate the size of a silver dollar. Disappeared, macaroni and cheese, cornbread and beans, fried potatoes, the dish overflowing and sweet, sweet tea (with real sugar) was.

If you need a good laxative, try Splenda. The first time I tried I was amazed. My stomach started to play like a volcano ready to break to make it sound. And speaking of flatulence! I tootedeach step I took. And these are not just poots were not. It sounded like thunder. It rattled the windows. My poor husband. It 'been so patient with them all.

Because I felt much better after the medication started working and my blood sugar levels were beginning to return to normal, I stayed with the diet. It was not easy. Sometimes I'm so hungry I could eat a pile of dirt ... when mixed with lard and sugar and was shaped like a biscuit.

Oh, and do not knowView more satisfied. I weighed this morning and I'm down to 129 pounds. I do not see how my Rag Mop again.

I think both of us dressed, pulling a pair of big eyes, round and go to our picture made. I will be left with short hair.

Secret of light and fluffy biscuits and pancakes

Want to lose some 'weight - in your baking, that is? This secret ingredient (that you probably already in your kitchen) is not just an economic and healthy, is also a touch of "cloud" to your biscuits and pancakes!

This ingredient is ... Oatmeal!

Yes, I know what you think ... Give me a moment, and trust me on this issue.

For example, to make super light pancakes, I would with a regular, not instant, oatmeal. I give a 1 to 1 1 / 2portion size of employment, usually in the microwave.

Next, add the ingredients for the pancakes plain porridge. I usually cool the first milk, oatmeal (not cook eggs!). You'll notice that the dough is a little 'frothy - especially if you have a rest'. The viscosity oatmeal extras involved.

Cook pancakes as usual. They will look the same and taste the same (no oatmeal taste). However, they got up nice, light andfluffy!

For super light biscuits, alters the normal biscuit recipt just a little 'small. Prepare the oatmeal as usual - but, as the prepared oatmeal is fairly liquid, it will make your cookie dough into a paste ... Add the normal amount of milk!

So ... cut in your milk. Add a little 'milk to the oatmeal, then add dry ingredients then slowly mix, adding milk a little' more necessary at a time.

Another change - since it isless milk, yeast mixture does not respond as much acid. This means that your cake will not grow as they normally do when I help them a bit '. I like to add a splash of lemon juice to throw into the mix. Will not taste the lemon, but you can increase the baking powder.

In your dough is a bit 'fluffy. You use less milk and the dough is not as dense as usual. If you roll the dough with a biscuit cutter and rotate thePasta a bit 'thicker than normal before cutting.

That's all - bake as normal and your result will be biscuits light enough to float off the pot!
